The Technical Centre is the location for Toyota Motor Europe's Research & Development (R&D), Purchasing and Production Engineering (PE) functions. From there Toyota ensures its cars match European customer's demands. R&D undertakes body, powertrain chassis and electronics design, the selection and testing of materials and components, engine evaluation, and the tuning of the driveability characteristics of all Toyota models. PE undertake plant building construction and equipment and tooling preparation for mass production. Purchasing oversees the procurement of more than 4 billion of parts and materials each year.

This is a full time position in TME's Powertrain Drivetrain Department within the Powertrain Division. The increased responsibility for development of powertrains for Toyota in Europe makes this a very interesting postion.

In this role:

• You are responsible for test planning in activity/responsibility area
  
• You take care of the complete powertrain evaluation
  
• You do data acquisition and detailed analysis
  
• You establish correlation between subjective evaluation and objective measurements for drivetrain issues
  
• You give technical support to Toyota in Japan, our European manufacturing plants and European suppliers for the development of powertrains tuned by Toyota Japan
  
• You ensure that all relevant concerns are communicated efficiently and effectively, and that all parties share common information
  
• You manage several vehicle projects at the same time and keep contact with external suppliers and testing companies
  
• You will have the possibility to grow into the Toyota Hybrid Technology

• Master degree in Engineering
  
• 2 - 5 years experience in automotive area, in calibration of transmissions
  
• Automotive / engine background
  
• Analytical mind (data analysis)
  
• Excellent communication skills (reporting skills and oral communication)
  
• Fluent in English
  
• Good driving skills & safety mind
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills ad team worker
  
• PC literate: good knowledge of Word, Excel; some knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, VS100, Visual Basics, Labview would be an asset
  
• Willing to travel (20%)
